Welcome to the Housing Authority of New Orleans!

HANO has committed nearly $1 billion to building spacious mixed-income neighborhoods that will transform blocks of outdated housing into vibrant communities and preserve the historic quality of New Orleans’ homes. In addition to our construction plans, HANO has been active with our client and family initiatives. Our Client Services Department forged partnerships with social service agencies and resident management to provide extended programs to help our families succeed. HANO is a leader in the recovery of the city of New Orleans and will provide more than 7,000 housing opportunities by the end of the recovery period. We are committed to providing safe, sanitary and decent housing for New Orleans’ citizens and families.

 HANO Housing Choice Connect

We are pleased to introduce you to HANO's Housing Choice Connect Program! The new system will allow users to easily search through rental properties without going through an exhaustive list. After users type in their search criteria, Housing Choice Connect sifts through the list to show only the units that fit the query. It will also show schools, hospitals, bus routes, playgrounds and restaurants near the selected property. The Landlord and Residents section of Housing Choice Connect is currently open. If you are a tenant or landlord and would like to add your property to Housing Choice Connect, click the link above. If you are a resident and you don't have computer access, we have kiosks available in both HANO offices.
