The overall goal of the Housing Authority of New Orleans’ Procurement and Contracts Department is to maintain a continuous supply of goods and services necessary to support site development, production, and service schedules. The Procurement and Contracts Department seeks to maintain and foster long-term, mutually profitable, ethical supplier relationships, while providing the Agency with quality goods and services at competitive prices.

The department facilitates the Agency’s mission of effectively providing safe, decent, and affordable housing to low-income citizens by creating and sustaining viable communities.

The Housing Authority of New Orleans is committed to ensuring that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) and Woman Business Enterprises (WBEs) are provided with the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts awarded by HANO. To that end, HANO strongly encourages eligible firms to participate directly in contracting opportunities, and has incorporated contract language that requires all contractors and any tier subcontractors that are awarded contracts in excess of $100,000.00 to take all necessary and reasonable steps to provide Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) and Woman Business Enterprises (WBEs) with the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of such contracts.
