The mission of the Housing Authority of New Orleans Client Services Department is to provide programs to empower residents to become self-sufficient through opportunities of social services, education, job training and employment. Pursuant to the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) title 24.964, HANO is required to provide supportive services that promote and encourages self-sufficiency. These services are provided by the Client Services Department. Presently the department has 12 staff persons housed at both the HANO central office and site-based community centers. Client Services staff work in concert with the resident leaders to identify the needs of the residents at each site and refer them to various HANO sponsored and partner provider programs. Staff provides a holistic approach to working with all residents, from youth to elderly by administering a variety of programs from educational tutorials to health and wellness programs. The department encompasses the following sub-programs: Community Service Requirements Community Supportive Services (CSSP) Resident Opportunity for Self-Sufficiency (ROSS) Resident Loan Corporation (HRLC) It is the responsibility of the Client Services Department to promote, establish and implement programs. Therefore, the Client Services Department is the key element for success for our residents. |
